2009 Birthday Blog..

Ahh yes... it's one of the happiest days that happen once a year, and that is my 15th BIRTHDAY. THEY CAN'T BELIEVE HOW YOUNG I AM!, but this birthday is different from the previous years, instead of being at home for the entire day, I had to spend most of the day at school reviewing for the college entrance exams like (UPCAT, ACET, DLSU-CET, USTET and others).

On that day, we had finished our review classes this summer with Expert Guides, we took the mock test of UPCAT and ACET, I felt out of place since I am tooking a written test on my birthday. But there's something that I had done today, that I wasn't able to do the last 8 years, and that was give free food "libre" to classmates on my birthday (I remember I was turning 7 when I was able to give free food). I freed them desserts at the McDo Dessert Kiosk near Claret where I was able to give food to 12 classmates (Jam-X, Joshua A., Marvin A., Marvin B., Jadri, Gelo, JL, Edison, Centi, Avila, and Edu.) Sorry Canlas and Mikael, I was supposed to "libre" you, but my ride came before you came out.

After the "libre" with classmates, I went home where the food were my favorite lasagna, Baliwag Lechon Manok, chocolate cake, and a lot of softdrinks. I spent a good time with my family, cousins and relatives. I am thankful to those who greet me today. That's OK for me if you don't know or remember when is my birthday. The important thing for me is that I am 100% happy on my birthday.

Victory will have to wait... the randomness of this blog is unimaginable.

A random blog, for a random thought. The randomness of my thought caused me to write this random blog. I had to let it out.

Happiness will have to wait for me, as the Rockets lost Game 5 to the Trail Blazers in Portland 77-88, Despite the loss, the Rockets still lead the series 3-2. As the series will head back to Houston for Game 6. I hope they Rockets finish them at home, so that Brandon Roy's Playoff debut ends in a First Round EXIT, and the Rockets advance in the second round to face the Lakers. Sorry Blazermaniacs', I also like Portland, but when Houston and Portland square off, I would root for my beloved Houston Rockets.
LET'S GO ROCKETS! WIN GAME 6!

Then one random April day, as I was surfing the Internet, I found out that the Yuvienco's (Tristan's family) are right now part of my school from Grade 3 to 6, Headway School for Giftedness. It's been 3 years since I left for a Claretian high schol life, and a lot has changed overnight, like most of my teachers left, I only know a few people there, and standards have improved to something unknown within my sight.

But as my Claretian classmate once said to me:
"Ang totoong buhay ay nasa malaking paaralan"

HEY IT'S MY BIRTHDAY TOMORROW, I can't WAIT!
BUT I STILL HAD TO TAKE THE MOCK UPCAT and ACET on that day, and I'll be out from 8:00 to 5:00.

Expert Guides Review: Week 2

Week 2 of our college exam review with Expert Guides, lasted the entire weekday. 5 days straight before the weekend comes.

During this whole week, we finished Math 1, Chemistry and Physics. And then we had another session of Math 2, Math 3, Math 4, English. We had tests on Abstract Reasoning, Filipino, General Information, and Current Events.

On one day during this week, I got "OWNED" not ONCE, not TWICE, not THRICE, but FOUR times. Since reviewing for college is very difficult. I must strive hard on the final week of the review. Where on the final day, it's the mock UPCAT and ACET.

Expert Guides Review: Week 1

Week 1 of our college exam review with Expert Guides, lasted 3 days (Wednesday-Friday) where every day we had to review from 8am to 5pm. I was a part of section Claret A, one of the 5 (originally 4 sections of classes), Claretians were arranged alphabetically by last name (well not quite since we had a classmate who's last name is M).

During the first three days we had 2 sessions of Math 1 (Algerbra), 2 sessions of Chemistry, a session of Biology and Math 3 (Geometry), with each session lasting 4 hours with breaks in between. During Day 1, we had some people who were from other schools, but they would move to Claret E (5th section) as one with some Claretians moving as well. We had 5 tests and some exercises during this period.

I could call it "sabaw" since it was a struggle trying to get every single information that I am getting in this review. Anyway we have 2 weeks left of review (9 days left), I'll try to get as much information as I can get.

2009 NBA Playoffs

Start:     Apr 19, '09
End:     Jun 18, '09
Location:     USA
Dates are not certain...

Let the 2009 NBA Playoffs begin.

The 2009 NBA Playoffs (the 2nd Season), will begin this April 19 (18 US time). As 16 teams who survived the Regular Season, will begin another journey on their way to the NBA Finals to determine who will be crowned the 2009 NBA Champions.

So here are the matchups for the First Round:
WESTERN CONFERENCE
1 LOS ANGELES LAKERS - Can Kobe & Co. redeem last year's loss?
8 UTAH JAZZ -  Will Deron & Co. pull another uspet vs the best of the West?
SEASON SERIES: LAL (2-1)
4 PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS - How long can Roy & Co. last in the playoffs?
5 HOUSTON ROCKETS - Will Yao & Co. end their playoff woes without T-Mac?
SEASON SERIES: HOU (2-1)
3 SAN ANTONIO SPURS - Can Tim & Co. win another odd-year title without Manu?
6 DALLAS MAVERICKS - Can Dirk & Co. win again against the divisional rival?
SEASON SERIES: TIED (2-2)
2 DENVER NUGGETS - Will Chauncey & Co. bring the Mile High City a championship?
7 NEW ORLEANS HORNETS - Can CP3 & Co. get a championship to the "Big Easy"?
SEASON SERIES: TIED (2-2)

EASTERN CONFERENCE
1 CLEVELAND CAVALIERS - Will LeBron & Co. get to the promised land?
8 DETROIT PISTONS - Can Rip & Co. pull an huge upset against the overall seed?
SEASON SERIES: CLE (3-1)
4 ATLANTA HAWKS - How will Joe & Co. extend their playoff run?
5 MIAMI HEAT - How will D-Wade lead them further in the playoffs?
SEASON SERIES: ATL (3-1)
3 ORLANDO MAGIC - How will Dwight & Co. do in the playoffs without Jameer?
6 PHILADELPHIA 76ERS - Can Iggy and Co. pull a suprise?
SEASON SERIES: ORL (3-0)
2 BOSTON CELTICS - Can Pierce & Co. repeat last year's glorious championship?
7 CHICAGO BULLS - Can Gordon & Co. pull an upset against the defending champs?
SEASON SERIES: BOS (2-1)

My reaction to the matchups are very very dissapointing since my team the Houston Rockets had a chance to take 2nd place in the West (since Denver lost their game) and win the Southwest Division, but they let it slip against the Mavericks (Spurs win their game vs Hornets). They had to settle for 5th place, and will face Portland without Homecourt Advantage. I still wan't them to be champions, but if they can't make it to the Finals, A first round win will be fine for me. But as the playoffs progress I will determine my pick for the finals.

The big question is:
WHERE WILL AMAZING HAPPEN THIS YEAR?

I disabled replies on this blog. Haha.. so spammers and critics will never be heard..

LET'S GO ROCKETS!
GET RED!
BEAT THE TRAIL BLAZERS!
BRANDON ROY will be eaten A-LIVEH!!!!

New hair... new hope... dream cut came true..

It's been a long time since I was happy with my hair. During the school days, I even dared myself to go "semical" but they never let me do it. But this summer, I got the type of hair that I want. I wanted a low maintenance hair that doesn't need brushing again and again, then here it is.

TAKE A LOOK:
It's a dream come true for me, it's been 2 years since I had this kind of cut, but this is also a sign for me of new hope. I gave up most of my very thick hair yesterday as I went to the barber shop in our area. I never felt so happy, and I hope to keep this type of hair further into school this June.

Mapmaking with Google Map Maker

This summer, one of the things that I am doing while waiting for the entrance test review which will start on April 15, and something to keep me away from being bored while surfing the internet is using Google Map Maker. This is a product by Google to allow users to contribute their know-how of their community. My greatest contribution was to put Sugartowne (picture above) our subdivision on the world map, which was not included when Map Maker was introduced. I made a lot of contributions to Map Maker, almost 2000 edits so far and still growing.

So I enjoy using Google Map Maker. If you want to see my contributions look for the kArLc

The HEART, SOUL, and the WILL TO WIN!

CARD DAY: Good news - Grades up. Bad news - Tuition up.

Today was the "dreadful" day of the school year, the final CARD DAY for SY 2008-09.

This final CARD DAY is not just the getting of cards and showing of grades, but this is a key to applying for college this year.

Prior to knowing the CARD grade, I was worried that I may get a line of 7 in one of my subjects, and what grades will I show to universities I will apply to. Fortunately, my card grade went up by 0.63% from the previous quarter. Still, I'm a long way from my classmates, since I am a part of the Honors Class this school year, most of my classmates are way smarter than me. Still, I am satisfied about my higher grade.

But despite the good news of having a higher card grade this year, Tuition fees for next school year will go up for incoming 4th year to P71,000, which is bad news. I'm not sure if we can afford the tuition, but since I want to stay in Claret next year and not move. I will study harder than before right now.

Finally, please visit my new BLOG site.
